Heres something essential. Use a PvP character instead of PvE characters, PvP characters are simply more versatile and you can delete/remake them. PvE characters are only ready for PvP when all requirements for your build of choice can be met which can be (in some cases) rather expensive. Your best bet is to just roll a PvP derv, and go from there.

If you're new to PvP try to talk to someone who has been around for a while, especially people with top-tier GvG experience. I assume your eventual goal will be to succeed in GvG as it's still by far the best PvP there is in GW. Someone experienced tell you the ins and outs of each class and give you a bunch of things to work on. Take these suggestions and try to improve on them while you're losing in RA. Eventually you'll win 5 straight, and hopefully in the games before that you were able to get better in a few different areas.

Also using a PvP-only character and a good 8 skill build is alway recommended.

The manual is bad and wrong, tbh.

IIRC, it implies that warriors should tank and that eles are the best damage dealers. It's as though it was written by someone who never played GW.
